About us
The European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (EJVES) is the premier journal of the European Society for Vascular Surgery, which has over 3,000 members globally. EJVES has a five-year Impact Factor of 6.3 and is aimed primarily for vascular surgeons dealing with patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases. Don't miss this #EJVESOA "Danish Nationwide Study on Surgical Treatment of Infective Native Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms" Rebecca Skov Martin Lawaetz Nikolaj Eldrup Karl Sörelius. They identified 75 patients treated for INAAs during a period of 20 years. Although OSR dominated (72%), EVAR increased over time. How did long-term survival differ between groups over time? Don't miss this latest #EJVESVA on "Prevalence of Smoking and Impact on Peri-Operative Outcomes After Elective Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair" #aortaed Kitty H.F. Wong Robert Hinchliffe Petar Zlatanovic Elective infrarenal AAA repairs in the UK 2014-21 were studied (n=26 916): 22% were active, 62% former, and 16% never smokers. Many serious complications were more common among active smokers, yet there was a 2.4 fold variation in the proportion of active smokers between hospitals. Smoking cessation programs can save lives.
