Integrated prefabricated facades and green facades among the key points of discussion during the INFINITE project Offsite Academy, the event dedicated to net-zero and sustainable industrialised building renovation.
The INFINITE project #Offsite #Academy brought together 50 experts and professionals of the construction industry to share experiences, challenges, and sustainable business models for industrialised building renovation. What we talked about: 👉 need for fast, efficient #building renovations to meet climate targets; 👉 the challenges for an aging building stock such as the one in Italy; 👉 benefits of #prefabrication and modularity for improving quality and reducing construction time; 👉 Energiesprong best practices, and innovative R&D solutions for mass-market energy retrofitting; 👉 technical solutions: #BIM platform, integrated #prefabricated #façades, green façades, photovoltaic cladding, and advanced mechanical ventilation systems; 👉 analyzing costs and revenues for various retrofit aspects through Business Model Canvas. Integrated prefabricated #facades were at the core of the INFINITE project #Offsite #Academy held in Milano last week. Several solutions were presented for the integration of active and passive technologies in prefabricated facades, with the aim to renovate fast and efficiently the building stock.
What a blast! The many exchanges during the first #Offsite #Renovation #Academy were a sign of a deep interest on the potential of industrialisation in the building sector. 🎤Thanks to the speakers for many insights on several topics: from the challenge of an aging building stock in Italy, to the promising approaches provided by the prefabrication and industrialisation of #building #envelopes, from the integration of technologies to the success stories from France. 🙏 Thanks to all the participants for the engaging discussions. It was great to be at the #PLEA2024 with a big delegation from the Architectural Facades and Products research group, Delft University of Technology. Together with Prateek Wahi, Magdalena Zabek and Tatiana Armijos Moya, we showed results from our research projects IEBB, ENSNARE, and AEGIR. We had such a productive and inspiring time in Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland, interacting with the conference participants, meeting old and new colleagues and friends, and getting motivated to re-think resilience and act on climate mitigation for the built environment.
