We're excited to share our latest StoryMap! Invasive Blue Catfish: From Problem to Plate (https://arcg.is/19zvjP1) , shows the spread and impact of the invasive blue catfish in our local waterways. Blue Catfish is a non-native species causing serious disruptions to our waterways, outcompeting native species and altering the delicate balance of our aquatic environments. This StoryMap illustrates the threats to native species and the ecosystem, while also showcasing how seafood processors are helping to restore balance in our waters. Seafood processors are stepping up by turning this challenge into an opportunity, harvesting these catfish to protect our waters and provide a sustainable seafood option. Learn what you can do to support these efforts—from participating in local removal initiatives, choosing sustainable seafood and spreading the word by exploring our StoryMap, Invasive Blue Catfish: From Problem to Plate. The Mid-Shore Regional Council and the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, with support from the Rural Maryland Council (RMC) through the Rural Maryland Prosperity Investment Fund (RMPIF), have partnered with the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative to develop tools and resources custom built for the residents, businesses, and community organizations on Maryland's Delmarva Peninsula.

Did you know 90% of the City of Crisfield's stormwater is managed by a ditch system? What does that mean for high tide flooding days, maintenance, and future planning? Find out this Saturday when the Crisfield Resilience Academy hosts the EPA's CREAT team, Somerset County, and the ESRGC to talk about all things stormwater ditch related. I'll be covering how the RMPIF supported GIS Circuit Rider Program is assisting the City with access to data, fieldwork, and analysis.
