Last week, our CEO Eric J. G. had the opportunity to speak and give testimony before the Special Committee on Kensington. The town hall was centered on eliminating barriers to provide care to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders in the Kensington area. ERPHealth’s platform can provide real time information and provider availability for individuals in need. Combined with Pyramid Healthcare, Inc.’s commitment to enhancing bed availability, we are excited to work toward a solution. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to get in front of the Special Committee today and to share what we’ve learned in our research,” Eric said. #AddictionRecovery #AddictionTreatment

With 1 in 4 adults having a diagnosable mental health condition and over 60 million people using substances, high-quality, person-centered behavioral health treatment is a top priority in the U.S. These statistics have led to a push for parity laws, health equity, and the integration of physical and behavioral health. Additionally, there is a call to shift to a reimbursement model based on value rather than volume, accelerating the move towards Value-Based Care (VBC) contracts. While beneficial for consumers, behavioral health providers are pressured to adapt from fee-for-service models. Many are turning to technology to streamline workflows and prepare for VBC. Our free publication features insights from experts on steps providers should take to get ready for VBC. When Cori E. McMahon, Psy.D., NCCE was asked, "What are some emerging trends for monitoring treatment and improving patient outcomes?" she shared insightful perspectives: "Surprisingly, even though we’ve been discussing measurement-informed care (measurement-based care/MBC) for some time, it is still not standard practice across the behavioral health continuum. Providers who are routinely measuring progress in treatment are experiencing improvements in quality of care and in the experience for both themselves and their patients. On a larger scale, we are seeing valuable payer-provider partnerships come together, facilitated by behavioral health tech, allowing screening and triage to care at the population level. This is making significant strides in improving access to care in general, and most importantly, access to QUALITY care." #erphealth #behavioralhealth #mentalhealth

When Dr. Cori E. McMahon, Psy.D., NCCE was asked, "In your words, what do the top providers do that leads to success for patients?" she provided some profound insights: "Top providers routinely do a few things that lead to success for their patients: •They regularly measure progress in treatment. •They very openly and actively discuss data in session with their patients - connecting the data to the patient’s life experiences and raising up the patient’s voice in treatment - enlisting active engagement in care. •They elicit honest feedback during every session, asking questions like ‘What did we miss?’ ‘What can we do better next time?’ ‘What really worked well this session?’ and normalizing the experience of being frustrated or unhappy so patients know it is ok to express those feelings; that it’s all in the service of working toward goals of overall improvement." This approach fosters a collaborative, transparent, empathetic environment, and empowers patients. #erphealth #mentalhealth #behavioralhealth
