It's easy to fall into the comparison trap, isn't it? 😒 A common yoga saying  keeps us grounded at Equipt: "Stay on your mat." What does that mean? Focus on your own journey, your own growth, your own progress. And resist the urge to compare yourself to others. They are on their own path. Of course, it's great to draw inspiration from others' success. But use it as motivation, not as a benchmark. After all, often what you’re seeing is just a highlight reel. Everyone faces challenges, even if they're not visible. Comparison is the thief of joy. Don't let it steal yours. Graphic - @WisdomMadeEasy

The most damaging critic isn't the naysayer in the boardroom or a skeptic at the dinner table. It's the one that lives between your own two ears. Self-doubt can be a career killer. It holds us back from applying for that promotion, speaking up in meetings, or pursuing innovative ideas. So the next time that inner voice pipes up with "You can't" or "You're not good enough," remember this: You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. And YOU get to decide what's possible. ✨ Take one small step today toward a goal you've been hesitating on. It doesn't have to be perfect - it just has to be progress.

Someone recently asked me why Equipt Women focuses on "fixing" women instead of fixing the system. Here's my response: 1. We don't fix women. We listen to them. Give them new tools. Help them reflect, navigate, reframe, prepare, role-play, self-advocate, negotiate, and more. We're empowering aspiring women who feel stuck, overlooked and underpromoted. 2. Our work is gratifying and transformative. 3. These empowered women will emerge to build new and better systems. If you want to learn more or bring our work into your organization, check out our signature program, Momentum. https://lnkd.in/gy9a_pNM

Most workers don't even bother negotiating their compensation. 😕 But research shows men are slightly more likely than women (32% vs. 28%) to ask for higher pay than what's initially offered. This has to change. Here are 5 essential reasons why you must self-advocate and negotiate your worth: 1. Employers have far more info than you, so they're already at an advantage… which means YOU are at a disadvantage. 🤔 They have access to all employee compensation packages, competitive compensation packages, and industry compensation data. They invest in outside resources to help them be as informed, thorough and competitive as possible. 2. Getting paid what you deserve is fair and just. It's that simple. ⚖️ 3. You will feel better about the role – and the company – if you get what you want 😊 4. Most employers will be impressed…if you negotiate skillfully AND most employers want women to advance in order to have strong, diversified leadership candidates and recognize these skills are essential. 👏 5. Men are often making more for the same role (and sometimes for lesser roles) 😕 The bottom line is knowledge is power. 💪 So get informed, get confident, and demand what you deserve. Your future self will thank you. 🙏 Excerpt from our self-guided course "Compensation Confidence." To access the full course, visit https://lnkd.in/gpS-MFQm Study from Pew Research Center, 2023
