Our partners Supercritical have launched a world-first in carbon removal: a multi-pathway marketplace with live pricing and availability data. Equatic has been working with Supercritical since 2022. As one of the high-integrity CDR projects listed in the marketplace, we're proud to contribute to a new era of radical transparency in carbon removal. We are cheering for the success of platforms like Supercritical's that help: 1. Expand the buyer universe 2. Increase availability of CDR data at the project level 3. Drive volume into the market Find Equatic here: https://lnkd.in/ebv77EQg

Thank you Lee Harris at Financial Times for calling out that we need solutions that *both* decarbonize hard-to-abate industries and remove legacy emissions for good. FT Moral Money (2nd article): https://on.ft.com/3xtevWU

High-integrity, low cost carbon removal solutions cannot wait - so today, in partnership with Deep Sky and Arup, we’re unveiling plans to build North America’s first commercial-scale ocean-based carbon removal facility in Quebec. The new facility will be the largest ocean-based carbon removal plant in the world, with the capacity to remove 109,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and produce 3,600 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. Carbon removal at less than $100 per tonne is now well within reach and this facility puts Equatic a critical step closer to the scale needed to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries and remove legacy emissions for good. Equatic has been listed as a semifinalist for the US Department of Energy CDR Purchase Prize. High-integrity CDR is critical to tackle the global climate crisis and expand economic opportunities for Americans. We look forward to designing, manufacturing, and deploying our technology at scale. How do you accurately measure CDR from ocean-based pathways? To answer this, Equatic today releases its ISO 14064 MRV methodology prepared by EcoEngineers. As one of the oldest non-governmental organizations, ISO has developed rigorous international standards relied upon by industry for over 75 years. As one of the leading CDR suppliers, Equatic is sharing MRV methodology publicly so as to show our commitment to a thorough, transparent framework for quantifying, monitoring, reporting, and verifying greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the project level. We’ve published academic papers, white papers, and now this comprehensive methodology document, to help advance the industry that supplies high quality, durable #CDR.

How can we help the oceans capture more carbon? RE:TV came out to Los Angeles to speak with our team and find out.
Here's how one company is helping the ocean absorb more CO2. Equatic.tech has invented a way to boost the ocean's natural carbon cycles. Using a technique called electrolysis, they run an electric current through seawater to split the oxygen and hydrogen in the water into two streams. Their first-of-its-kind method removes huge amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere and permanently stores it in the ocean 🔒 Watch Equatic's Co-Founder Erika La Plante explain how it works. #carboncapture | Gaurav N.
