Job Description ⬇ Performs mechanical and electrical repairs on Sheriff's Office fleet vehicles, including routine maintenance and fitting new vehicles to put into service. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Performs routine maintenance on fleet vehicles as recommended by manufacturer's maintenance schedules and fleet schedules, including service and replacement of tires, automatic transmissions, brakes, oil, and oil filters. Checks and maintains all fluid levels, lights/police lighting, belts, hoses, water pumps, heater cores, timing belts, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, steering linkage components shocks/struts, and drive axle repair/replacement. Completes work orders for all services performed. Diagnoses and repairs problems with vehicles to include electrical ODB II, C.A.N. system codes, mechanical, fuel, emissions, suspension repairs, routers and MDC repairs. Performs road tests on vehicles to ensure safety and roadworthiness after completion of repairs. Prepares new vehicles for service, including checking all mechanical, electrical, and emission systems and installation of police equipment (radios, emergency equipment, lighting devices, sirens, vehicle partitions, radars, in-car cameras, shotgun/rifle mounts, routers, and mobile computer systems).  Assists in monitoring and maintaining inventory of all parts required for fleet maintenance and repair. Cleans shop area, tools, and equipment. Repairs shop equipment as required. Supervises and trains inmate trustees in shop clean-up and car-washing. An Emergency Service Call Taker... -Receives and answers 911, emergent, and non-emergent telephone and text calls for multiple police, fire, and other agencies in El Paso County. -Provides pre-arrival instructions on medical and fire calls. -Performs data entry and retrieval within multiple computer systems. -May be assigned to special projects and working groups as directed. -Assists in all areas of the training program, including training personnel within the Communications Center as directed. - and Performs administrative duties as needed. We are hiring! Security Officer (Armed) Provides professional safety and security services to County and/or City facilities, grounds, parks, property, and personnel. Upholds and enforces Local and State laws pertaining to County and/or City security. Essential Duties/Responsibilities -Patrols County and/or City buildings and property for fire, safety, and security violations on foot or by motor vehicle.  -Reports and investigates incidents on County and/or City property.  -Conducts searches of individuals; performs self-defense and arrest control techniques as needed. -Ensures that County and/or City buildings are secured and locked.  -Monitors, sets and responds to burglar and fire alarm systems. -Monitors and controls vehicle traffic at County and/or City lots and facilities; maintains flag procedures.  -Writes accurate, detailed reports. Logs security information, including calls for service and other required information; maintains accurate logs and related documents. -Transports evidence and presents testimony in court when necessary. Provides protection for County, City, and State officials, special events, data processing operations, County, City, and District Court operations, election return process, and other related activities.
