🌿Self-care is about taking the time to recharge, reflect, and reclaim our well-being in the midst of a society that often leaves no space for rest. It’s a personal and political choice to honor our bodies and minds, to acknowledge that productivity is not the measure of worth, and to create a healthier balance for ourselves. 🌿Self-care is not just bubble baths and face masks (although, those are nice too!) 🌿It’s also about setting boundaries, saying no, and taking time to rest. 🌿It’s about honoring the diverse practices that have been appropriated and commercialized. 🌿It’s about recognizing that wellness is both a personal AND collective journey. 🌿Let’s not forget that self-care has been co-opted by a culture that often promotes a narrow, exclusionary view of what it means to take care of oneself. 🌿To decolonize self-care, we need to break away from these narrow definitions and create a space where everyone – regardless of race, gender, or class – can find their own path to wellness. 🌿Share in the comments below how you take care of yourself and your community! 👇👇👇👇👇 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ #LGBTQ #LGBTQCommunity #LGBTQIA #QueerAdvocacy #Trans #Wellness #MentalHealth #Colorado #Nonprofit #EnvisionYou #MentalHealthAwareness #SelfCare #InternationalSelfCareDay #DecolonizeSelfCare #SelfCareIsNotSelfish #SelfCareIsHealthcare #MentalWellness #AskForHelp #CollectiveHealing #Community #Connection [Image 1 description: [On a blue background with foliage images, text reads, “International self-care day”].
