Heron Innovators Suspended Air® Flotation (SAF®) process systems thicken two basic types of biological solids, aerobic and anaerobic. These solids are commonly referred to as waste activated sludge (WAS) and digested solids. SAF® may be used in place of a rotary drum or gravity belt thickener and offers many advantages, including greater percent solids and significantly less chemical demand.
