Let's look at Pillar 3 - Asset Collection to use that rich space information. ▷ Today, if you want to know where a specific asset is located in your facilities, do you have to ask that one guy who knows? Or do you have to break out your reading glasses and scan a dizzyingly long spreadsheet for it? You're not alone. ▶︎ We help you use the accurate space information from pillar 2 to pinpoint the precise location of assets—HVAC, medical gas, generators, AHUs, fire extinguishers, and more—throughout every sq ft of your facilities. ▶︎ Once you have accurate drawings for every floor, building, and site in your portfolio, you can use them to pinpoint the location of your assets. ▶︎ Then, you use this opportunity to run a complete asset collection from the ground up or validate assets against a known information set. In either case, this affords the opportunity to develop a complete register of assets, pinpoint the precise location on your floor plans, and tag them with a barcode or QR code to access information about them quickly in the future. Unified Space and Asset Management: 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝟭 - 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Our previous post introduced the 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 of establishing a 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. In this post, we'll discuss the first pillar: structure characterization. ◎ Problem: Owners lack accurate, live information on their space. Without it, they can't plan effectively. And it's a shame because facilities are the most important assets in healthcare. If a bank didn't fully understand the volume and disposition of its capital, could it run its business? ◉ Answer: Reality Capture: Scanning up to 70k sq ft/day quickly provides a complete and accurate space accounting. No more time sifting through dusty drawings in the dimly lit basement drawing room. You have all this information at your fingertips, and you can share it with others in the organization who need it, too. ◎ Problem: BIM is way too complex. During construction, it's useful, but we rarely—if ever—see these models used by the operations and maintenance teams, let alone updated and maintained by the O&M teams. Owners find it just too challenging, time-consuming and expensive to do so. ◉ Answer: Owners' BIM: our approach ensures 3D BIM models are lean, lightweight models that contain only the information the operations and maintenance team needs. They're quicker to create and quicker to maintain. Case Study: We have a customer managing BIM models for >11 million sq ft with one full-time employee. ◎ Problem: Even if drawings exist, they lack context. Floor plans with overlays are needed for room type, department and life safety. ◉ Answer: Owners' BIM: with lean 3D Revit models, team members have immediate access to floor plans with colored overlays that provide the critical context to understanding the space and its use.
