🌟 Celebrating achievements! 🌟 In June, we gathered in Washington, DC, for the #GEDI 2023-2024 Commencement Ceremony. It was an honor for EnCompass to join in celebrating the incredible accomplishments of the American Evaluation Association GEDI interns, including Millicent Gyan, who we hosted this past year. Millie made significant contributions to several projects within our TA & Eval practice area, notably the MacArthur Foundation Big Bet on #Nigeria project and the U.S. Department of State PAIRS project. The Graduate Education Diversity Internship (GEDI) Program offers paid #internships and #training opportunities during the academic year, aiming to engage and support students from groups traditionally under-represented in the field of #evaluation. Embracing Failure as a Learning Opportunity Failure often gets a bad rap, but it's actually a powerful teacher. Harvard Business School Prof. Amy Edmondson’s "Failing Upward" video sheds light on how calculated failure can foster #learning. Inspired by this, our #MEL team recently delivered an engaging virtual training for USAID partners in #ElSalvador. The training focused on using #failure to enhance two key MEL practices: capturing #lessonslearned and documenting success stories. Participants explored concepts, practical examples, and hands-on applications, discovering how to learn from challenges and failures. A standout segment was the high-energy "Stories that Inspire" talk show, which shared eight tips for writing impactful #successstories, emphasizing the hero’s journey and the value of acknowledging failures. The session was a hit, with attendees praising its dynamism and feeling inspired to apply the methods. Kudos to our all-star El Salvador MEL team who continues to innovate with energy and creativity! 👏 👏 w/ Adriana Abreu-Combs, Laura Villegas, Beatriz Flores, Johanna Constanza, Francisco Armando Hernández Quele, Rafael Alfaro

📢 Big news in the world of democracy! USAID has just launched its new Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG) Policy, aiming to elevate, transform, and modernize our approaches to democracy work worldwide. The #USAIDDRGPolicy outlines four key pivots needed to modernize DRG programming, addressing today’s challenges and promoting democratic renewal. We were proud to support USAID's DRG Bureau in rolling out this new policy and in fostering a growing global DRG community through our GROWTH Project. The dissemination event was a great success! Congratulations to USAID and the DRG Bureau on this significant step toward transformative change! #democracy #humanrights #governance #goodgovernance https://lnkd.in/gD_V72dd
