Anthony came to employU while still in high school to take part in Transition Youth Services where he completed several On-the-Job Trainings around the community. After graduation, Anthony took part in Discovery Services to help identify what would be the best opportunities for him to become successful in employment. Through this process, it was found that Anthony excelled at doing jobs where he was asked to repeat the same tasks for long periods of time. Things like folding towels are a simple enough task, but to do it for hours on end can become difficult. Anthony thrives with such requests. With the help of his employU Employment Specialist, Jeff, Anthony began a new On-the-Job Training where he hopes to find a customized placement at the conclusion. During his first week, Anthony demonstrated his ability to outpace the other workers in the laundry but it’s his attention to detail and ability to continue to work steadily that makes him the perfect team member. Anthony has routinely exceeded expectations and completed all the folding needed for the day in less than an hour. Through Customized Employment, Jeff is able to help Anthony find a career where he can showcase his skills in a way that is beneficial to the business while providing the structure Anthony enjoys. Anthony loves coming to work every day and showcasing his abilities. #employingabilities

After moving from Oklahoma to Ocala with her family, Lindsey reached out to Vocational Rehabilitation who referred her to employU. Lindsey was born with cerebral palsy and experienced hearing loss in 2018. With the help of Voc Rehab and employU, Lindsey was able to get better working hearing aids and find full-time employment. Her employU Employment Specialist, Tami, helped Lindsey build a resume and expand her interview skills. Lindsey had worked in childcare previously, and though she loved it, it was not her initial career goal. After several months, she decided to return to childcare since teaching children is her passion. With Tami’s help, Lindsey began working at Amazing Kids World Academy. With some job coaching from Tami, Lindsey excelled and was promoted to lead teacher. She is thrilled to have her own class and loves working with the children every day. #employingabilities #deafawareness
