The Credible Messenger program is a joint partnership between the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to decrease recidivism and assist our youth in avoiding harsh criminal sentences by redirecting their lives towards productive endeavors in an immersive program! This $10,000 investment to Credible Messengers on behalf of The Emerging 100 of Atlanta is in support of their programming efforts to ameliorate the experience of our youth in our communities, and help to ensure that no child is left behind! A member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc.’s Project Success Program, Joshua has excelled both academically and in sports. As the Captain of the Varsity Basketball team for the last two seasons, he embodies the quote “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.” by Tim Notke. Joshua's goal is to become a successful real estate professional and business proprietor. 🌟 Congratulations to Isaiah Rashid! 🌟 Isaiah, a senior at Charles R. Drew Charter School, will be attending Georgia Tech to major in Atmospheric Science. A standout in academics and athletics, Isaiah was a National Beta Club participant, on the principal’s list all four years, and a record-breaking soccer player. As the captain of his varsity soccer team, he led them to the state quarterfinals and was a mentor in his high school’s peer leadership program. Isaiah plans to pursue a career in meteorology and raise awareness about the impact of natural disasters and global warming on vulnerable communities. Jeremiah's passion for bettering the quality of life for the most unfortunate drives his sociological research on disparities, oppression, and discrimination. With a passion for business law, she plans to attend law school upon graduating. Gloria has already made significant strides, interning at the Baupost Group in legal and compliance roles, and will soon join BNP Paribas as a Legal and Compliance intern. Beyond her legal aspirations, Gloria aims to establish a non-profit organization to provide education and technical skills training to underprivileged children. Her vision is to advocate for justice while empowering marginalized communities. The Emerging 100 of Atlanta was excited to partner with Ohio River South, the League of Women Voters of Georgia, and Civic Atlanta to put on a Presidential Debate Watch Party at the ORS headquarters! Approximately 100 patrons convened throughout the night to watch President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump face off on a myriad of issues. Although the candidates themselves were at odds, this non partisan event saw voters of different backgrounds and political affiliations enjoy each others company, as in-person gatherings for debate watches were inhibited by COVID restrictions in the 2020 election cycle. We would like to extend a special thanks to Howard Franklin for his generosity in hosting all assembled for an unforgettable gathering! ——— #Emerging100ATL

MONDAY MOTIVATION An annual tradition continued in May, as the Emerging 100 of Atlanta and 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc. joined forces again this year to treat our APS B.E.S.T. Academy graduating cohort to a multi-course Senior Luncheon! The students were treated to presentations from 100 Black Men of Atlanta member and E-100 ATL President Emeritus Kevin Gooch, Esq. as well as current President Diriki T. Geuka, Esq. Attorney Gooch encouraged the scholars to leverage their vast network of support to charge toward their future success, and President Geuka encouraged our scholars to: “be kind without being naive, be smart without thinking you know it all, and live for the moment not just the weekend!” As a senior gift, each student was presented with a book by Carice Anderson, “IntelligenceIs Not Enough,” an in depth-look at navigating the professional landscape as a budding professional!
