Have you ever been in a situation where you are just minding your own business and suddenly a song pops on the loudspeaker at the grocery store or on the radio that you haven’t heard in years and you find yourself reciting every single word without skipping a beat? 🎶🙌 What if I asked you right now to think of a song from your childhood that you learned through friends or a teacher? Like me, I’m sure you can also dig up lyrics to songs like “Miss Mary Mack”, “Miss Suzy Had a Steamboat”, or “The United States Song” from your brain’s archives. Funny thing- I actually just started singing these songs as I was writing them- did you do that too as you were reading them?! 🎤🎶🤣 Our brains possess such a remarkable ability to make, store, and retrieve memories of music, even when we aren’t aware of it. 🌟🎉HUGE Congratulations to our amazing Rachel Beck for passing her Board Exam! 🎉🌟 Rachel started her journey with Elevated Kids over two years ago as a Behavior Therapist and BCBA Supervisee and hasn’t stopped growing and learning!🤩 Rachel might have grown up on a farm 🐄 in Maryland, but she knew, even as a young child, that she wanted to be a “teacher” when she grew up. After working in a special education school in Maryland, she quickly realized that a big classroom wasn’t the right fit for her and she much prefered working one-on-one with children! After that, Rachel found herself moving to Philadelphia to attend Temple University where she earned her Masters of Science in Education with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis👩🏼🎓📊📈 #goowls 🦉 Rachel’s favorite part about working at Elevated Kids is building and maintaining close relationships with the families that she supports. She thrives on seeing the progress that occurs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis!
