  • IRS guidance on electric drive incentives will provide clarity for the stakeholders throughout the value chain WASHINGTON – Following the IRS release of guidance on Section 30D and 25E incentives, Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) President Genevieve Cullen said, “The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) shares the Administration’s vision for an electrified fleet, and our members are working to expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen the supply chains essential to meeting the nation’s climate, energy and economic security goals.” Cullen continued, “We appreciate the Administration’s efforts to accelerate the transition to e-mobility, including the guidance released today, which will provide clarity for the stakeholders throughout the electric drive value chain who are innovating and investing in an electrified future. The incentives in the IRA, including the 30D and 25E vehicle credits, are essential to building US leadership and expanding consumers’ access to electric transportation. Today’s guidance is an important step forward in achieving those aims.”

  • Washington, DC—EPA’s “Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles – Phase 3” is an ambitious and important step forward in reducing commercial vehicle emissions. An increasingly electrified truck fleet will deliver essential environmental and economic benefits to the nation. EDTA appreciates that the Clean Truck Plan recognizes diverse electric drive pathways, including hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, will all contribute to reducing heavy-duty emissions and speeding the transition to e-mobility. As the electric drive industry is building these options, consistent signals in federal regulation, incentives and public investment are critical to achieving our shared goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing U.S. leadership in electrification. • EDTA Supports EPA Action on Final Emissions Standards for Light-Duty and Medium-Duty Vehicles WASHINGTON – Following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s release of the final Multi-Pollutant Emissions Standards for Model Years 2027 and Later Light-Duty and Medium-Duty Vehicles, Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) President Genevieve Cullen issued the following statement: “EDTA supports the work of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Administration to combat climate change, and we applaud the national commitment to advancing e-mobility. The final rule calling for aggressive light-duty and medium-duty vehicle emissions reductions underscores the potential for greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction through the entire suite of electric drive technologies, encompassing hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid EVs, battery EVs, and fuel cell EVs.   “EDTA appreciates the evolution of this rule, which maintains ambitious GHG reduction goals while providing meaningful milestones for the market and essential benefits to consumers and the nation.”
