EFCG is pleased to share that WSP, a leading global professional services firm, has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire POWER Engineers (“POWER”), a prominent Idaho-based U.S. consulting firm with a leading presence in the Power & Energy (P&E) sector, for US$1.78 billion. The proposed acquisition is a strategic move in alignment with WSP’s vision to expand and enhance its P&E services, positioning the Corporation at the forefront of the industry.   “The acquisition will mark a transformative step that will position us at the forefront of the energy transition,” commented Alexandre L’Heureux, President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP. “By uniting WSP’s extensive global network and POWER’s deep technical expertise, we are poised to provide exceptional solutions and service quality to foster significant advancements in the communities we serve.”   The acquisition has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies and is expected to be completed in the early fourth quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. Excited to share my experience moderating two impactful panels at the 2024 Environmental Financial Consulting Group (EFCG) Technology Leadership Conference last month in Chicago. It was an inspiring event focused on the intersection of technology and client engagement in the AEC industry. In our session on "Delivering a Better Client Experience: Client Portals", we explored how client portals transform customer interactions by enhancing transparency and streamlining communication. Insights from technology leaders David White, PE, Melissa Wastell, and Aurelio Gonzalez highlighted the significant benefits these platforms offer in terms of efficiency and client satisfaction. In "Foundational and Applied Technology: Structuring Firms to Move Fast and Be Flexible", we discussed the importance of integrating foundational and applied technologies to maintain agility in a rapidly evolving market. Panelists J Nick OTTO, David Mulholland, PE, and Ronald Sattan shared valuable strategies for embedding technology deeply into business processes to ensure swift adaptability to new challenges. This conference was a fantastic opportunity to gather with industry experts to exchange knowledge on AI, digital transformation, and more, providing actionable insights that drive our industry forward. EFCG is pleased to announce that Rockwood Equity Partners (Rockwood) has completed an investment in Energy Renewal Partners, LLC (ERP), an Austin-based energy consulting service provider specializing in energy development and decommissioning projects across the United States. Founded in 2009 and led by industry veteran Trisha Elizondo, ERP offers a comprehensive range of predevelopment and construction consulting services for energy developers and operators. Rockwood’s investment in ERP is its third environmental platform in its current fund.
