About us

The Education Knowledge Broker Network is a dynamic new professional community dedicated to bridging research-practice-policy focused on education. This network aims to empower individuals and organizations working as knowledge brokers by providing them with a space to share promising practices and innovative approaches to knowledge brokering, develop broker skills and knowledge, and build collaborative relationships. The network is offering programs, knowledge cafes for discussions and collaborations, a monthly newsletter, and a website. • On September 24, join fellow knowledge brokers to (re)imagine what equity work looks like in knowledge brokering. This knowledge cafe is intended to be a space where knowledge brokers can share different ways issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion come into their practice and collaboratively develop a preliminary framework for thinking about equity in our work. Dr. Elizabeth Farley-Ripple will facilitate this opportunity for attendees to share, think, and learn together.  Register here: https://lnkd.in/eCTQjxXP Equity features strongly in all aspects of knowledge broker work. Equity issues are relevant in the production and use of research, in our educational policies and practices, and in our work linking the two.  Further, we have different identities and positionality in our roles, and we have had different experiences and opportunities to shape our understanding of equity. At the same time, it is important to develop a shared understanding of some of the most foundational dimensions of equity that underlie our collective work so that we can disrupt historical and contemporary barriers to a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable educational system. The Education Knowledge Broker Network recently had several knowledge brokers describe their thoughts and experiences of addressing equity in their work in a blog, “Thoughtfully Navigating Complex Equity Challenges with an Eye to What is Possible: Insights from Knowledge Brokers” We look forward to having you join us for the upcoming Knowledge Cafe.
