Eliana, a Certified Medical Assistant graduate of Wilmington Job Corps, was one of the students featured on large banners at Job Corps' 60th Anniversary Gala event in Washinton, DC, this week. It was a grand celebration for a program that has been training young adults like Eliana, a Phlebotomist for Lab Tech, for six decades. Way to go, Job Corps and Eliana! #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess

The City of Oneonta Mayor Mark Drnek (left) is ready for his cameo for the new Oneonta Job Corps Academy's recruitment video. The professionals at Otsego Media are directing and producing this project, which is promising to be a good one. In addition to the Oneonta Mayor and Center Director Thayne Bodenmiller III, Overhead Line Instructor Xeiden Moonysh, and Cement Masonry Instructor Xavier Murray (center and right) will also appear in the video. Both former OJCA graduates succeeded in their respective industries and returned to teach. Mayor Drnek was also a Oneonta Job Corps trade instructor before starting his media company. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #recruitment

Northlands Job Corps hosts a monthly half-day Fun Friday to promote mental and physical health. Students have a half-day of trade, and then in the afternoon, they sign up for various events around campus. There is usually a special meal and lots of prizes. The most recent Fun Friday was sponsored by Northlands' Student Government Association (SGA), so the students did all the planning themselves! Events included a dodgeball tournament, a basketball game, and a pool tournament. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #summeractivities #wellness #PositiveCulture

After almost 30 years, Oneonta Job Corps Academy Dental Hygienist Dorothy "Dottie" Forster is retiring! A former flight attendant, Dottie returned to school to learn a trade and has been at the Oneonta Job Corps since 1995. The sweetest and kindest person anyone would have the fortune of knowing, Dottie was also tough as nails. Always at work and on time, she modeled ETR's Core Values of Personal Accountability (along with Respect, Commitment, Safety, Integrity, and Growth). If Dottie could make it to work in a snowstorm, then we all could. She was inspiring in that way, and we will miss her. Dottie, please know that you made a difference and are loved. There are countless smiles because of you. Thank you, and Happy Retirement! #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #StudentSuccess #staffappreciation #retirement

Iroquois staff and students took advantage of last week's beautiful summer weather and had a cookout. Afterward, there were lawn games, dancing, and enjoying the day. Training is always better when one has breaks. And summer is better shared. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #SummerActivities #summercookout #positiveculture

Job Corps in the Community – Iroquois Job Corps students assisted with a community fair at Albion Park in upstate New York last week. The Albion recreation director, John Grillo, is pictured in the white shirt in the group photo. Keith Lutes, in the blue shirt, owns the company that had the bounce houses and water slides there. IJCC student volunteers worked hard and helped out. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #CommunityEngagement #communityservice

Students and staff of the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center combined a celebration of Job Corps' 60th Anniversary with a summer cookout and fun day. Running through the inflatable obstacle course (photo below) was a favorite activity – watching as much as participating. Sixty years of training young adults for careers and providing safe and fun activities for their leisure time. Job Corps is a holistic program that is our nation's largest and most successful. Train hard, play hard, and win! The Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center is operated by ETR #educationandtrainingresources and MINACT #minactinc. #jobcorps #careersbeginhere #JobCorpsJourney #thenationaljobcorpsassociation #studentsuccess #positiveculture
