Earlier this week the AVSC published a new best practice on Core Automated Vehicle Safety Information, which is the culmination of over a year's worth of hard work by the working group. This best practice identifies a set of core safety topics that can be consistently shared with stakeholders and help set expectations when communicating AV safety information related to a specific use case or deployment. This is again excellent work by the AVSC members and the SAE staff, and I hope folks will check it out! https://lnkd.in/exVE9wwM

Agreed! It was great to see the substantive conversations between first responders and technology developers. We will note that several stakeholders brought up the value of sharing hazard identification efforts, maybe this is a job for Sofie Weidenlöv and Michael Wagner ?
Darcyne Foldenauer, Director of the Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium (AVSC), was invited to participate and speak at the TX A&M First Responder Interaction Summit this week. Kudos to Cruise and Waymo (Members of the AVSC) who provided vehicles for the attendees to review and walk through scenarios. This was an effort to bring together First Responders, industry, and regulators to help define areas that need to be addressed and provide inputs for the development of the first Texas Guide for AVs. The AVSC provided an introduction and overview of the consortium and reviewed the First Responder Interaction with ADS Best Practice that was recently updated and published in April.
