Join us in building a future where economic transformation also safeguards ocean health and coastal communities. In Alaska, Ecotrust is part of a multi-partner effort to create a sustainable mariculture industry through the farming of seaweed and kelp. With our partners, we're building hubs for mariculture production that model ecological and economic resilience for Indigenous coastal communities, and we're also planning for similar mariculture opportunities in Oregon and Washington. With your support, let's uplift this industry that honors Indigenous wisdom, promotes resilience, protects our oceans, and drives sustainable growth for future generations. Donate today. The Office of Public Engagement staff invited our Food Systems Equity Community Outreach Coordinator Alisha Howard to the Farmers and Ranchers in Action event held Tuesday October 8th, at the White House. This event gave participants an opportunity to lift up the impacts of the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in agriculture. Folks from across the U.S. joined Secretary Tom Vilsack and other Biden-Harris Administration officials to discuss priorities, ask questions, and advocate for a better future in agriculture. The event was followed by an afternoon of programming at USDA with an address from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small emphasizing the commitment of USDA to farmers in urban and rural communities.
