  • Empowering change makers 🌟 As part of our Economic Mobility Initiative (EMI), Team DEO in partnership with the Center for Nonprofit Management, REDF, and Nearby Consulting has kicked off a Social Enterprise Incubator to provide tailored training, technical support, and capacity building guidance for nonprofits and social enterprises in LA County. 📈✨ After a competitive application process, 26 nonprofits and social enterprises have started their journey to learn how to add an earned revenue component to their organizations and enhance their overall impact. The custom curriculum is composed of virtual coaching and coworking sessions, site visits to notable nonprofits such as Homeboy Industries, and a series of workshops spanning dynamic topics that include internal audits and stakeholder engagement, exploring business opportunities, designing business model canvas, financial viability, and more! This cohort, launched last week at the California Endowment Center, is the latest training program to be launched as part of EMI. Ready to elevate your organization?   • Future healthcare heroes! 🏥🚀 Last week, Team DEO hosted an orientation and prescreening at Prestige College for 48 eligible Nursing Attendant I candidates, gearing up to start their FREE 5-week training program that will lead to a permanent job with the Department of Health Services at either Los Angeles General Medical Center or Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar. Candidates got the scoop on the program, aced their prescreening interviews, and finished all necessary paperwork to get started! Next stop: Final orientation today before training officially kicks off on Monday! 🚀 And that's not all—this training leads straight into a dedicated hiring event, giving you a fast track to permanent County employment!   • Last week, Team DEO, @compton_college and @stjosephctr had the honor of celebrating 21 new and incredible graduates from the Careers for a Cause (C4C) program. Graduates are not only starting their search for Peer Support Specialist and related positions with the help of our partners and America’s Job Centers of California, but are joining a network of 389 American Rescue Plan (ARP)-funded C4C participants with 280 graduates and 169 hires in the social and homeless services field and counting. Major congrats!! Team DEO is proud to invest $5.2 million in creating an empathetic workforce that helps all of our communities access affordable housing and good jobs – addressing the State of Homeless Emergency and the thousands of social service jobs available as part of the regional approach. 🏠💪 It’s not too late to sign up!
