Today we spotlight Chef Richard Sandoval of Stoke & Rye at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. Not only is he a culinary icon, but also a dedicated philanthropist. Translating to "Long Live Bees" in Spanish, Chef Sandoval's initiative, Viva Abejas, is a multi-faceted program aimed at promoting bee conservation and sustainable agriculture practices. Each spring, Viva Abejas collaborates with local beekeeping organizations, environmental nonprofits, and sustainable agriculture advocates to raise awareness about the critical role of bees in our ecosystem. The project supports various activities such as beekeeping workshops, educational seminars for schools and communities, and the establishment of bee-friendly habitats in urban and rural areas.
