Today, she’s thriving and ready to embark on a new journey with state rental assistance, allowing her to move into her own apartment while still supporting her mom. Gionna has discovered the joy of gardening, grown close with her housemates, and learned to embrace responsibilities. Her journey from a place of darkness to one filled with light and hope is truly inspiring. Gionna says, "Never ever give up hope. There’s always a reason to smile, always a reason to have light in your life." Thank you to all the advocates and elected officials who championed disability and mental health initiatives in this year's state budget! Here's what we achieved: 400 more adults with disabilities will have full access to disability services. An additional $7.5 million for adult intellectual and developmental disability services. An increase of $5.5 million for frontline caregiver training. An extra $3 million to help adults with disabilities secure employment. An additional $7 million for student loan relief for clinicians.
