Meet our Staff - Gwen Stout, Admissions Specialist Gwen is one of our newest employees; she started in June as an admissions specialist at our south location. Gwen was born and raised in downtown Indianapolis as the youngest of three girls. Her senior cat Misty has been with her for almost her entire life. When Gwen isn’t working or sleeping, she can be found rewatching Criminal Minds or episodes of 20/20; playing Candy Crush: Soda Saga; and on sunny days, she loves being outside with a good book. Gwen studied musical theatre in college. She has several professional shows in her resume and was on the cusp of joining Actors Equity Association, which is the union for theatre actors. But that said, she couldn’t pass on the op- portunity to join an organization that strives to serve and assist those who need us the most. Growing up, Gwen was aware of programs and places that served the population that Easterseals Crossroads serves. Her older sister has autism and has attended various adult day programs, as well as therapy programs. From an early age, this eviron- ment helped Gwen develop a heart and passion for serving people with varying needs. Gwen is looking forward to working with our families at our south location. She feels that being a small part of their lives is so rewarding. She is appreciative of her coworkers; she has felt tremendously welcome and supported in the very early days of her career with us. As far as a get-to-know Gwen fact, she has had two brain surgeries; she and cyclist Lance Armstrong have shared the same surgeon. Gwen’s bucket-list travel plans include travel to Europe - Italy, France, Germany, Ireland and Greece in particular.
