16 years in the making… Our plant-based ambassador, Chili, has been on quite the journey with her dad, Philip, in the decade and a half since she was rescued. When Chili was rescued at six months old, car rides were one of her biggest fears. But with patience and love from her dad, Philip, she conquered her anxiety and embraced the open road. “After rescuing Chili, it took me months to help her feel safe in the car and a few more months to adjust to freeway speeds. But by Fall 2009, she was ready for our first road trip!” From those early days of fear to our countless road trips over the past 16 years, our adventures have been filled with joy, love, and awe. And the story doesn’t end there… The pack of two has grown! “Now, with my wonderful wife Camilla and her 15-year-old plant-based dog, Mokie, we are a plant-based pack of four! We’ve been on many adventures together, and our entire family continues to thrive on plant-based diets.” Not only is Chili’s journey a testament to the power of compassion, patience, and the benefits of a plant-based life, but she and Mokie are living proof that when a plant-based food meets a dog’s amino acid and nutritional requirements, they can thrive for many years! How hot is too hot for your dog's paws? 🐾 Consider that even temperatures in the 70s can result in scorching hot asphalt in direct sunlight. To ensure the pavement is safe for your dog to walk on, perform the 7 second rule: Press the back of your hand on the asphalt for seven seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog.
