A port is only as good as its inland connections. Our Clure Terminal is served by four Class I railways, and this week, we’re upgrading 112 feet of that railway with a new concrete crossing. Stronger, safer and more resilient, this new crossing will help keep cargo flowing efficiently from our docks to destinations throughout North America. As always, it’s a team effort, collaborating with experts from SEH, North Shore Track Services, Inc., and MJ Companies LLC.🛤

On this date 50 years ago, paving crews took a brief #IndependenceDay break from their work at Airpark, Duluth’s soon-to-open industrial park complex. Located not on the waterfront, but rather, near the Duluth International Airport, Airpark was and is developed by the Port Authority. Pavers returned to the site after a long holiday weekend to apply finishing touches for the opening of a Gardner Denver sales and service center. Following Gardner Denver, Wisconsin-based Medi Associates became the second firm to announce Airpark building plans, gaining approval for purchase of a 2-acre site during our July 11, 1974, board meeting. #ThrowbackThursday Still thriving today, Airpark provides a convenient location for many companies. Are you looking for a development site? Contact Kate Ferguson, CTL, MBA to learn more.

More than 400 million tons of grain has sailed from our port since 1871, linking us inextricably with agricultural producers throughout the nation's breadbasket. Kate Ferguson, CTL, MBA dove deep into that relationship as part of the Minnesota Agriculture & Rural Leadership Class XII, graduating last week to culminate the two-year educational experience.
