Did you know that downtown #Raleigh has over 160 pieces of public art? A self-guided biking or walking tour is a fun and easy way to explore, and Downtown Raleigh Alliance has an interactive map you can follow on DowntownRaleigh.org Each of the 6 downtown districts has something interesting to see with the largest collection in the Warehouse District. We used Raleigh’s bikeshare program, Cardinal Bikeshare, to explore. Before starting, we fueled up with coffee at Black and White Coffee Roasters and chocolate at Videri Chocolate Factory in the Warehouse District. Downtown Raleigh Alliance was thrilled to support another successful Bike Month this May! 🚴 Working with local partners, we helped to program a month of community and celebration for a more rollable Raleigh. Thank you Oaks & Spokes, GoRaleigh, Oak City Cycling Project, Kimley-Horn, and so many others. Planning and Transportation Manager at DRA, Mary Sell, notes: “Urban environments that are centered in creating places for people are the future, and what we hope for Downtown Raleigh as we continue to grow. Allowing transportation options provides a more sustainable and equitable model that I hope to see continue gain momentum.” Downtown Raleigh Alliance is committed to advancing solutions for connectivity in Downtown Raleigh, with work included in our ongoing Economic Development Strategy, which will debut publicly this August. For those that want to stay engaged with mobility in Downtown, the City of Raleigh is currently undergoing a Downtown Mobility Study to assess gaps in our network and create a more walkable and bikeable urban center.
