About us
In 2018 the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) was formed by property owners in the core of Downtown Evansville. The EID provides services and benefits to its property owners beyond those the City provides. EID initiatives are funded by an annual assessment on member properties. Currently the EID works to create a cleaner, safer, and more verdant Downtown Evansville; to share the story of Downtown Evansville through branding, events, and marketing efforts; and, advocates for additional development and amenities which will benefit member property owners.

Another outdoor hydration station is now open at the Old National Bank Campus on Main Street! The hydration station is ultra-filtered through a reversal osmosis filtration system. The stations are able to function from temperatures ranging from -10 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling them to be open year-round. Founder and CEO of Hydration Station, Jack Deig, presented the concept of Hydration Station at the University of Evansville’s Changemakers Challenge competition as a high school senior in 2022. The idea to provide easily accessible, free, filtered water to anyone won 3rd place at the local competition, 2nd globally, and earned Jack a scholarship to UE. The first Downtown station was installed at the Cascade Overlook in May 2024 – which has now surpassed 30,000 water bottles saved. 📍 One Main Street #DTEVV #DowntownEvansville #hydrationstation #evansville #evansvilleindiana #accessibility
