Hurricane Beryl’s devasting hit on Texas left several of our Dominium Houston-area communities impacted. Twelve of our properties were affected by the storm, with nine losing power for several days. Every member of these site teams rose to the occasion, demonstrating remarkable resilience and compassion. We are so impressed and are deeply grateful for their unwavering leadership and education. Our teams went above and beyond in managing water and property damage, handling power outages and caring for residents. They oversaw the relocation of affected individuals, provided essential resources, and coordinated assistance from the Red Cross, our community's team, and the greater surrounding community. In addition to these heroic efforts, the broader Dominium team rallied to support the impacted sites. Notably, Regional Managers Bonnie Garcia and Heather Furr, CAM, COS, HCM-H, HCM-HF, who both lost power in their homes, continued working tirelessly alongside their site teams, providing essential support, guidance, and leadership. Vice President Rita Collins remarked on their dedication: “They lead by setting a strong example, showing that caring for our residents and sites is paramount, especially in times like these.” This commitment to excellence and care was evident across all 12 Dominium communities affected by the storm. MeadowView Townhomes in Goshen, Ohio, recently faced the challenge of preparing for their HUD inspection, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and dedication. The team, led by Regional Maintenance Manager Gear Shephard, included maintenance members from Tennessee and Ohio, who rallied to quickly address the steps identified by the U.S. Housing Inspection Consultants. Community Manager Amanda Verkamp and the MeadowView community highly praised the team's exceptional collaboration and contributions during this crucial period. Their efforts played a vital role in achieving the final inspection score. "I couldn't speak more highly of the team that helped prepare for the HUD inspection," Gear remarked. Regional Manager Leontyne Washington added, "The team was enthusiastic about tackling this new project, and they returned with cherished memories and new friendships." Gear echoed this sentiment, noting, "It was their first-time meeting, but by the end of the week, you would have thought they were lifelong friends." We are excited to announce that this week, we celebrated the Grand Opening of Briar Park and The Paramount, in Atlanta, Georgia, Dominium’s newest affordable housing communities. Located off Greenbriar Parkway, these projects mark Dominium’s first new construction within the city of Atlanta. Together, Briar Park and The Paramount will introduce 448 units of affordable housing, providing over 1,000 low-income seniors and families a place to call home in Atlanta’s Greenbriar community. Briar Park offers one- and two-bedroom apartments tailored for seniors aged 55 and older, while The Paramount features up to three-bedroom units designed for families and workforce housing. Both communities boast a wide array of amenities and exceptional features. We were honored by the presence and remarks from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet, DCA Commissioner Christopher Nunn, and H.J. Russell CEO Michael Russell, Sr., in addition to Dominium Vice President and Project Partner Shaun Reinhardt. We extend our gratitude to all who joined us for the Grand Opening, and to our development, financial, and community partners, whose collaboration made this development possible.
