Recently, John Klopping, our global head of brand design, traveled to Austin, TX to represent Dickies at SXSW, one of the world’s largest showcases of creativity and innovation. John led a discussion around “Genericana,” discussing cultural & brand expression through workwear, design, and typography alongside Héctor Ramírez of TRIPTK. They explored brand identity through the archives of product, logo, type, and color trends over the last 100 years. This week we launched our "Respect the Classics" campaign. This next chapter in our global “Get to Work” campaign celebrates modern craftsmanship and makers, while also reinforcing our presence in the automotive enthusiast community. Throughout our workwear history, Dickies has become deeply intertwined with the automotive community, becoming a staple in the wardrobes of skilled automotive makers, symbolizing resilience and hard work. “Dickies' commitment to creating durable, quality goods for workers, makers and artists dates back to day one. Delivering reliability and dependability for makers is a core part of our DNA. This campaign is the culmination of our workwear heritage and our enduring presence in the automotive community. We’re thrilled to kick-off the new year by welcoming Geani Sanabria and Michelle Pantaleon to Dickies Nation! Geani and Michelle will be joining us as apprentices on the Product Team as part of VF’s partnership with Pensole Lewis for the 2024 DiverCity X Design program. This partnership was established through VF Corporation and this year will be activated across Dickies, Vans, Timberland, Smartwool and The North Face. The mission of the Pensole program is to provide participants the opportunity to further enhance their creative skills, shape their careers and undertake a first-hand experience of working within some of the industry’s leading brands. #DickiesNation SHOWED UP last week. Our Supply Chain team hosted our first ever holiday bake sale and over 30 incredibly talented bakers shared their special treats! We indulged in a variety of traditional desserts, sampled hot cocoas from all over the world and exchanged holiday recipes. All proceeds collected were donated to a local Fort Worth shelter.
