  • Today, on October 3rd, we recognize Latina Equal Pay Day and acknowledge the fact that Latinas earn only 57 cents for every dollar that white, non-Hispanic men earn. We are also proud to highlight DSF’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Kimberley Villegas, who was recently featured as a guest contributor in The Denver North Star. In her article, Kimberley shines a spotlight on DSF’s commitment to tackling economic inequity and overcoming systemic obstacles through our wraparound support services. • New this year, the Denver Business Journal introduced a program honoring leaders who are often the behind-the-scenes driving force behind a company’s operation: the CFO Awards. Nominees were selected based on their ability to provide financial guidance, execute the company’s business model, identify and manage risk, develop innovative strategies to reduce debt, achieve profitable growth, contribute philanthropically to their communities, and more. DSF is proud to announce that our very own CFO, Patti Schwartzberg, was nominated and became a finalist for this prestigious award! Join us in congratulating Patti and celebrating the incredible work she has done for the organization! 🎉

  • Yesterday marked the launch of an exciting new partnership between DSF and the Denver Broncos Football Club Foundation, as we celebrated their sponsorship of the DSF Future Center at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Early College with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. We’re incredibly grateful to the representatives from Denver Public Schools, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Early College, Denver Broncos Football Club, and the Denver Broncos Football Club Foundation who came together to make this collaboration a reality. After the ceremony, DMLK students had the unique opportunity to engage with a panel of inspiring professionals, including former Denver Broncos cheerleader and current CBS Sports Anchor, Romi Bean, Denver Broncos Football Club Chief Financial Officer Justin Webster, and Super Bowl 50 Champion Bennie Fowler, now Director of Strategic Development at Caprock. The panelists shared their personal career journeys, offering insights into how they achieved their goals, offering valuable insights and advice, while students asked thoughtful questions about their paths to success. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this partnership possible. We’re excited for the doors this collaboration will open for our students and the community. 🎓🧡
