🩺 Denver Health’s Center for Addiction Medicine Academy provides training and technical assistance on trauma-responsive substance use disorder treatment for Colorado and surrounding regions. 🤝In partnership with the Public Health Institute at Denver Health’s Denver Prevention Training Center, we are incredibly excited to announce the launch of our newest course, Addiction Medicine 101, which is a three-hour, virtual instructor-led course. This course provides a foundational understanding of how to support and interact with patients with substance use disorder as they navigate the many different paths to recovery. The inaugural offering of this course launches July 23rd, but you can sign up for additional courses on August 20th or September 10th. 🗓️This course offers 2.5 hours of CNE and CME hours. 📢 CAM's Impact in 2023: A Year of Support and Transformation 📢 In 2023, the Center for Addiction Medicine (CAM) made significant strides in supporting Denver Health and our community. Our hub and spoke model of care reached over 23,000 individuals, resulting in 78,000 substance-related visits. We're proud to serve a diverse group, with over half of our patients being persons of color and 22% experiencing homelessness. 🌟 Key Highlights: ✔️23,000 individuals served ✔️78,000 substance-related visits ✔️64% males, 52% persons of color ✔️59% insured with Medicaid 👏 A special round of applause goes to Brooke Bender, MPH, the Administrative Director and Judith Shlay, MD, the Medical Director of the Center for Addiction Medicine, for their exceptional leadership in spearheading this outstanding initiative and making a significant difference in our community.
