Hi! 👋 So many new faces in my network, plus it's been a while since I've posted more personally, and what better time to do so during the launch of Delta Dental Ins., new employer brand campaign! 🌟 My name is Val Ashcroft, I'm a mama of 2 wonderful (yet crazy), almost Irish twin kiddos; Blaire and Declan, an avid Peloton enthusiast and a huge Philadelphia sports fan (GO BIRDS 🦅!); I also have the great pleasure of working with amazing individuals in our People and Talent Organization, leading our Talent Acuqisition function. **sappy long post alert***   When I made the transition from lifestyle PR to employee experience at Edelman, my biggest reason that I told Meredith Coburn at the time I interviewed for doing so was that I wanted to make a difference in whatever my next job would be and in my opinion, one of the most impactful ways of doing that was a role that allowed me to consult on communications for organizations' employees.   Once I took that leap to Edelman, I fell in love with our Employee Value Proposition work - that’s where I got to see the impact truly come to life through the research, thoughtful activation planning and messaging integration based on the insights and so much more. And that passion (huge thank you to Alissa Schepisi - the OG EVP guru) led me to being staffed on the Delta Dental EVP/employer brand work, which ultimately led me to joining the amazing Katherine Wilburn, Meredith Coburn and the killer DD Executive and Internal Communications team.   And today, with all of my colleagues (both past and present), I'm so proud to say we've finally gotten to see the years and years of hard work come to fruition with the launch of our employer brand campaign, "Behind our Smiles". And let me tell you - this is my biggest career highlight, to date and I am feeling ALL the feels (if you can't tell ;)) . Being apart of the team (on both sides) that had the distinct pleasure of telling the story of our Delta Dental Ins. employee experience has been beyond rewarding.    I could not be prouder of what we were able to create together - I mean an AR filter that allows employees to participate in the campaign themselves?? (Brittney Cruz and Haroon Ahmad - y'all are miracle workers!) And lets just talk about the creative genius in general from our Delta Dental B C - including Nina D'Iorio, @Lynn Vichiolla, and Liz Mazzei, PMP. We would not be here without each of you and your teams.   And to my EVP DD partners in comms - Elle Farrell and Gina Moyer (Matteucci) - both of you have seen this work through and been in the trenches with me. I've learned so much from both of you in the process. And Katherine Wilburn - thank you for empowering me to take on the role of leading this project and for believing in me - it means more than you know. Demonstration of true leadership right there.   AND a big shout out to my fellow Edel-friends and EVP-nerds (Vidya Ranganathan, MBA and Katherine McIlwain- can you believe we made it here??) Truly amazing and wouldn’t have been possible without either of you and your smarts!!   There are so many things I've learned through this project, but a few to call out: 💚 I work with some pretty amazing people who collaborate on another level and produce real amazing work. 💚 If you have something you're passionate about, advocate for yourself! Voice it! People will listen. 💚 Delta Dental Ins. is a pretty dang amazing place to work and I'm so proud to be a part of this culture. #lifeatddins
