𝗦𝗢 close, but no cigar (though I really don't want one 😝 ) I haven't done an Open To Work post in quite a while, due to being heads down in contract work, and I felt confident that I would land a role with a studio I had been interviewing with. They were ✨ 𝗪𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗨𝗟 ✨. Please don't get me wrong. All of the stars felt aligned, I thought I found my new home, but unfortunately, the role went to another candidate after the last round. This one hurt. 𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗧. But, their rejection email was very sweet, and I take solace in the fact that the decision was very hard, and they would love to have me back when similar roles open. I would come back in a heartbeat! But, enough of that, on to the next! Here's what I bring to the #gamingindustry and beyond, and how that levels up your company: I prioritize usability by creating cutting-edge UI designs and player interactions that are immersive and accessible. I then integrate these components into an engine for playtesting. My passion is gathering player feedback and exploring the unique journeys they experience in the game. I possess an innate sense of player empathy that motivates me to strive for the optimal experience for 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝟭𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗜 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 - I create UI elements like HUD, Character Select Screens, and menus for an intuitive player experience - I maintain responsive UI systems to keep all parts of the game cohesive - I use color theory, layout, and typography to create a strong UI that is user-friendly to all players 𝟭𝟮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗫 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 - I develop user flows to get a better understanding of the player's 'job to be done' in a game i.e. joining a match in a MOBA - I conduct research at each phase of design, starting with discovery and ending with usability to ensure that the player experience is at the forefront - I iterate on prototypes with findings through playtests - I present solutions to nontechnical stakeholders throughout the sprint to ensure that we're on the same page and the reasoning behind my WHYs 𝗗𝗟𝗖 - I'm an illustrator who can adapt to a variety of styles, from character design to game props Who can use these skills to their advantage: Maxis Studios - EA Blizzard Entertainment Riot Games Bethesda Game Studios Ubisoft BioWare thatgamecompany Wizards of the Coast Check the comments below for a link to my latest work!
