Dees Burke Engineering Constructors

Last week we kicked off 2024 events with the #womeninheavycivil luncheon in conjunction with #TheBeavers Golden Beaver awards.   This year I had the honor of being a part of the planning committee for the #WIHC event. It was so awesome to see the attendees increase from last year, and to have seen more women present for the awards dinner as well. A big thanks to Russ Young, Matthew Hardison and Gina M. Setzer from Tenna for joining to support me in the event, and of course my friend, and mentor Teresa Arrighi, CPA for everything you do.   As I told Mary Teichert I felt honored to be in the room as she wrapped up her term as the first woman president, thinking about how years from now I'll be able to say "I was there when we had our first woman president!". Seems silly to think about, but the shift in progress we have made in the 18 years I have been in this industry has been awesome to be a part of, and I'm excited to see what's yet to come!
