DePaul Community Health Centers, formerly known as Daughters of Charity Health Centers, is a non-profit health care organization offering primary and preventive health services to all members of the community, regardless of their ability to pay. The Daughters of Charity have provided access to high-quality, compassionate health care to the Greater New Orleans community since 1834. The organization's 11 health centers are located in Bywater, Carrollton, Metairie, eastern New Orleans, Gentilly, Kenner, Uptown, Algiers, Gretna, Desire and Harvey. Health services include: Primary & Preventive Car for Children, Adults & Seniors Women's Health Eye Care Dental Behavioral Health Pharmacy Podiatry Medicaid Enrollment Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program Free Legal Help Help to Quit Smoking More Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance Accepted (Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Commercial, Humana, Peoples Health, WellCare) A sliding fee scale is also available for those who qualify. DCHC is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank again to distribute free groceries via a drive-thru food pantry this Friday, July 12, 2024. The event will take place at DCHC’s Carrollton Warehouse, located behind the Carrollton health center at 3201 Short Street, from 9:00 a.m. until all the food is gone. The food giveaway is held the second Friday of each month and is open to the public.
