We're committed to sustainable transportation through a comprehensive circular economy approach. This strategy includes repairing, remanufacturing, repurposing, and recycling lithium-ion battery materials used in our electric vehicles (EVs).    Our innovative technology enables us to identify when a lithium-ion battery no longer meets our high standards for vehicle use, allowing us to prioritize repair and reuse. We collaborate with partners like Li-Cycle to responsibly recycle critical materials, achieving up to a 95% recovery rate.    We’re also exploring new opportunities with Portland General Electric and Nuvation Energy to pilot a battery energy storage system to support the growing need of EV charging infrastructure. With these initiatives, alongside our recycling efforts with Li-Cycle and our goal to achieve CO₂-neutral production at all truck manufacturing plants by 2025, we’re committed to driving a more sustainable future.   #WeAreDaimlerTruck #ForAllWhoKeepTheWorldMoving #Sustainability #ElectricVehicles

Meet Jacob, has been a part of the DTNA team since graduating from Oregon State University in 2021 with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. Starting as an intern, Jacob moved to the Product Validation Engineering (PVE) team, gaining a solid foundation in truck mechanics.   Now an Interoperability Engineer in the Zero-Emission Transformation Group (ZTG), Jacob ensures our eTrucks are compatible with various chargers. He established a bi-annual process for a recommended charger list, improving the user experience with our eM2 and eCascadia models.   Jacob's proudest accomplishment is setting up the charging conformance and interoperability testing process, leading to a more efficient, cost-effective solution for DTNA. His success is attributed to supportive mentors like Ryan Menze and David Nitschke, who encouraged him to push beyond his comfort zone.   Looking ahead, Jacob is excited to contribute to DTNA's innovative projects and sustainability goals, continually striving to improve customer experiences and support cutting-edge technologies. Cheers to Jacob and to all who keep the world moving! #YouMakeUs #WeAreDaimlerTruck

We want to create a positive impact on society, the environment, and communities around us. We take our responsibility seriously and recently launched our Corporate Citizenship initiative Daimler Truck Cares, which consolidates all our global efforts in Corporate Giving and Corporate Volunteering.   As part of the initiative, another humanitarian aid convoy from our partner organization "Freunde helfen! Konvoi" today has set off to Moldova with four of our Mercedes-Benz Trucks, several of our employees as drivers, and 32.5 tons of urgently needed relief supplies such as hospital beds for the people in Ukraine.   Yet, our Corporate Citizenship journey has only just begun. While fostering our existing local initiatives and projects, we aim to enhance our global #CorporateCitizenship activities, focused on health & traffic safety, education, environment, and international disaster relief.   #DaimlerTruck #DaimlerTruckCares
