CxXchange is a place to Xelerate your career and Xchange ideas. We're a community of post-sales leaders, individual contributors, and professionals transitioning into Customer Success. Post-sales includes Customer Success, Customer Support & Services, Onboarding & Implementation, Professional Services, Customer Marketing, Customer Education, and Revenue and CS Operations. CxXchange started in March 2022 as #CSOfficeHours, a weekly virtual meetup for CS leaders, CSMs, and folks transitioning into CS. It has since grown to include a slack community, a book club, job search cohorts and mock interviews, and CS Leader and CSM Collaboration Groups. Everyone is welcome. Come join us!

    Do you take time to reflect over the weekend? I've had some A-HA moments lately. 👉 I insist on my coaching clients to build internal company relationship maps because that was something 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐝𝐨. Sure - I mapped out every detail of my customers. I was 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. I was strategic as a CS Leader. And it worked! But when it came to 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈: I avoided the leaders that I wasn't on the same page with. You know, the ones that would take the extra work & were a pain. 📌 And it cost me every time. It tripped me up with key projects.     I have a confession. As a CSM, I had my book of business organized by Renewals & Expansion opportunities. But-- As a CS Leader, I didn't have a system for my team's Renewals & Expansion revenue. 🗣️ Sure, I made sure that I spoke to each of them in their 1:1s about their accounts. 📈 And I had a spreadsheet where I tracked that information. (Don't get me started about the lack of digital tools for Post-Sales teams at startups, that's an ENTIRELY different post! Annie Dean had a great post about that recently....) 👉 But having a CS Qualified Leads system is more than just tracking: What stage is your Renewal & Expansion opportunity in? How much revenue do you have in each stage? Can your CSMs identify the deal flow? What are your goals? 🤔 If you've set up a CSQL process and Post-Sales Revenue Projections-- What else would you add to this list?
