Long ago, when I was at Leigh High School in San Jose, California, I was the drum major of the school marching band. My bandmates and I had different backgrounds, were part of different social groups, and had different interests. But when we put our uniforms on for performances, we were one and the same. And the feeling of belonging to that community was so powerful that we would proudly wear our custom gear in between performances. That sense of being a part of something bigger than myself is something I've carried with me to today, which is why I am honored, enthusiastic, and energized to be joining Custom Ink as CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Custom Ink is a special company that helps people build a sense of community and belonging, a mission that aligns with my own values as a person and a leader and something we need much more of in the world today.  Custom Ink is the online leader in custom wearables and other swag for organizations, groups, and communities. It is a strong business with excellent financial position and tremendous growth potential, thanks to its market position, powerful brand, talented team, and loyal base of millions of satisfied customers. I can’t wait to work with the Custom Ink team to design and drive the next phase of the company’s growth. In taking this role, I also want to recognize the extraordinary vision and leadership of my predecessor, Marc Katz, who co-founded this company and led it so successfully for the past 25 years. Marc has become a good friend and a trusted advisor, and I look forward to working with him in his continuing role as Chairman of the Board. I would also like to thank Michael Kumin and David Roberts of Great Hill Partners and the rest of the Custom Ink Board for the opportunity to serve as CEO of this remarkable company. This former drum major is ready to put on my custom gear again and be part of another great team.
