If you are not protecting children, you are protecting something that harms them —and that makes you dangerous *to everyone. No more begging so-called leaders to protect children*, either they do or they don't. If they don't, they lose their job. It's that simple.

Sep 6, 2024 - New South Wales (NSW), #australia: "The New South Wales Government is taking bold steps to increase protections for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence in the state with a new set of reforms. Announced today, these measures aim to create a safer NSW by addressing gaps in current legislation and imposing stricter penalties on offenders. Premier Chris Minns highlighted the importance of the reforms, stating, “The safety of victim-survivors of domestic and family violence is paramount. These laws reflect the risk posed by intentional and ongoing breaches of ADVOs… Everyone should be able to feel safe in their own home, but all too often for many that is not the case.” Key changes include new aggravated offences for repeated and intentional breaches of Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVOs). The new offences will see increased penalties, including up to five years imprisonment for persistent breaches within a 28-day period. “These new laws are tough, they’re very tough, but unfortunately, they’re necessary to keep women safe from domestic and family violence,” said Attorney General Michael Daley. "Nine fathers accused of child sexual abuse have been given legal access to their alleged victims, according to a "disturbing" new study. The shocking findings have prompted calls for an urgent inquiry and emergency measures against family courts. Some of these dads were either convicted child sex offenders or had admitted to child sexual abuse. But despite the "heinous" abuse some dads were even allowed unsupervised overnight stays by the family court, according to the University of Manchester researchers. Lead author Dr Elizabeth Dalgarno said: "We found disturbing evidence that private family courts are letting down some mothers and their children who accuse the fathers of child sex abuse and or rape. I was just in complete shock. I knew the situation in family courts was bad but I didn't expect convicted child sex offenders to get access to their children. "It was really harrowing and has taken the team a lot of dedication to get these findings out." She told of one "heinous" case where the father accused of abuse was allowed access to the child because the mother had been branded an 'alienator' by the family court. The child's father was then allowed access to the child and repeatedly raped her over many years. "It was only when a specialised abuse expert was instructed in the court that the child was then found to have told the truth about being raped and she was safeguarded," Dr Dalgarno said. Gun violence in schools is 100% preventable. - it's the guns. Genocide in Gaza is preventable - it's the bombs. Child abuse and harm of children is preventable - it's the abusers. Protect children and human rights, not guns, bombs and abusers.
