Save Childhood Dreams. CURE Childhood Cancer.
About us
CURE is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patients and their families. CURE got its start in 1975 when Dr. Abdel Ragab gathered together a group of parents of childhood cancer patients to raise money to further pediatric oncology research and establish a support network for families facing childhood cancer. Since that time, CURE has made significant contributions in the advance toward curing childhood cancer and has also provided critical support to thousands of families and children battling childhood cancer. As an organization, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency. As such, CURE Childhood Cancer has been given Charity Navigator's coveted 4-star rating for 13 consecutive years. Only 1% of charities have received at least 13 consecutive 4-star evaluations. CURE fills a vital role in our local community, but CURE’s reach goes far beyond, advancing research that has the potential for widespread application in the quest to cure childhood cancer. As a result of funding by CURE, new therapies and drugs continue to be tested, and collaborations formed which continue to make headway in the battle against childhood cancer and ultimately finding a cure.

Please join us in welcoming Tim Soriano to CURE’s Board of Directors. Tim is an Executive Vice President at Brown & Brown Insurance and had this to say about joining the board: “Our son, Carter, was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in 2021. One of our first calls was to our friend, who immediately introduced us to another CURE board member whose child also battled aplastic anemia. Though not cancer, AA essentially behaves like one. CURE was there during the long and challenging bone marrow transplant journey. In late 2022, Carter developed lymphoma (PTLD) as a direct complication of the transplant. Once again, CURE was there for the countless meals during the lengthy inpatient stays, activities for our son, and even a box full of Christmas decorations for our hospital room. Now, on the other side, I feel compelled and fortunate to share our story and help others along the way during the most difficult times. Research and family assistance are essential and only possible with funding.”

Lawrence Alexander Homes hosted the groundbreaking of the Pinebrooke Build for CURE home on Wednesday. When completed, proceeds from the sale of the home will fund lifesaving research that will lead to better outcomes for children with cancer. Many suppliers and tradesmen who have generously donated supplies and labor attended. Two special guests, leukemia fighter Myles and his brother Bryce, took a turn with the shovel at the ceremony. Visit buildforcure.org to learn more about this exciting new initiative.
