"My journey at CubeSmart began when I was in my early twenties. I was young and wanted a change out of typical retail or fast food and self-storage was different. I had no clue when I walked into my first day of training that I walked into the first day of my lifelong career. From where I started as an entry-level Store Manager to where I am now as a District Manager and Mentor to new DMs, I’ve held every position in the field - General Manager, Field Trainer, Senior Manager, Senior Manager/Trainer, District Manager in Training, District Manager. The past 18 years have been nothing short of incredible. I’ve been mentored by some of the most knowledgeable, intelligent, and engaged professionals. Those that have encouraged and inspired me to go for my goals, stretch my skills and to never give up. Today, we held our first in-person quarterly update meeting since February 2020! Due to growth during the pandemic, we ran out of office space for our corporate teammates and needed an A/B schedule so everyone had somewhere to work. Thanks to an expansion project this summer, we’re all finally able to be together in the office again! Our CEO Chris Marr took the opportunity to share business updates and stories of growth with our teammates, reflecting on the last 54 months and looking ahead to the opportunities waiting for us. It was great to be back together again! #CubeSmartProud

It's an exciting time for our hCube (corporate) teammates. We are finally able to work in the office together at the same time! Being together is already having an impact on how we think as a team – the melding of minds led to some serious color collaboration last week. We can't wait to see what our in-person interaction leads to next. Some history: Due to strong business performance and continued hiring, we outgrew our workspace during the pandemic; meaning we haven’t had all hCube teammates working in-person together since 2020! CubeSmart is a teenager! On this day in 2011, we officially branded ourselves as CubeSmart Self Storage and now we're celebrating our 13th birthday. Last week, we posted about our DM201 session that took place. Yesterday, we announced our DMs of the month. Today, we're sharing a little story about both of those things. When Steve Canon was at hCube for DM201 was the same time we named our DMs of the month. CEO Chris Marr took the opportunity to sneak into a session and surprise Steve with news of his selection for the honor. Take a look at the surprise on his face! Congrats again, Steve!
