As we celebrate our 70th year of service to Puerto Rico, we proudly joined our industry colleagues and partners in support of the inaugural Puerto Rico - Jacksonville Ports and Partners Summit in San Juan. This vital supply chain connection ensures that businesses and residents across the island receive the essential goods they need to thrive. Here's to strengthening our bond and continuing to support Puerto Rico's growth and prosperity!

Strengthening our relationship with Jacksonville’s longest-running trading partner 🤝   JAXPORT leadership recently traveled to San Juan to join the Puerto Rico Ports Authority (PRPA) in hosting the inaugural Puerto Rico - Jacksonville Ports and Partners Summit on the island. Jacksonville is the number one port in the United States for trade with Puerto Rico, handling nearly 90 percent of all sea trade between the island and the U.S. mainland. “The synergy and symbiotic relationship between Puerto Rico and Jacksonville are strong and critical. This summit is a testament to that sense of fellowship, friendship, and partnership," said PRPA Executive Director Joel A. Pizá-Batiz. The summit featured discussions about best practices in various areas, including business continuity, infrastructure upgrades, grant pursuits, and sustainability. “Many of the goods our neighbors on the island use every day come from Jacksonville, and it is an honor and a privilege to serve their community in this role,” said JAXPORT CEO Eric Green. Read more about the summit: https://bit.ly/3VFGzyg Thank you to our partners, Crowley, TOTE Maritime, Trailer Bridge, the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association, and the Puerto Rico Shipping Association, who helped make the event possible. Our recent volunteer effort involved planting a garden at “Casa Francela Mendez,” a community center recently opened by the human rights nonprofit Colectivo Alejandria. Crowley Cares and our business resource group Stronger Together: LGBTQ Alliance joined to make a difference in their center, which was created to provide a safe, stigma-free environment for the LGBTQ community. We’re proud to see our team members contribute to a place that fosters a sense of belonging and inclusivity in #ElSalvador.

Juneteenth celebrates the official emancipation of enslaved people across the U.S. and the day that this news reached the last stronghold of slavery in Galveston, Texas. We can all champion this day by reflecting on our history and recognizing the resilience and achievement of the African American community. This year, we celebrated at our Jacksonville headquarters office as our business resource group, BRIDGE, invited local black-owned businesses and organizations to commemorate this day of triumph and unified community. #Juneteenth

A quarter of a century ago, we launched our ocean cargo service from The Port of Gulfport MS into Central America and Cuba. Since then, our terminal operations there have grown and changed. Now, many of our customers enjoy the benefits of nearshoring, thanks to our weekly sailings in the region. The combination of Gulfport’s strategic and convenient location combined with the innovation, agility, and sustainable growth available in Central America is advantageous for business success. We are grateful to our wonderful partners at the Port at Gulfport and excited to continue to Carry the World. Forward.
