🚨 Rome, NY Tornado Aftermath: How You Can Help 🚨 Earlier this week, Rome, NY, experienced a devastating EF2 tornado with wind speeds over 135 miles per hour. The storm caused significant damage to the community, including the Georgian Arms Apartments, a 7-story senior and disabled apartment building operated by one of our AMO members, CRM Rental Management, Inc. Tragically, the seventh floor of the building collapsed, displacing all residents. Thankfully, everyone in the building is safe, but the broader community has suffered greatly, with one reported fatality. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster. In the wake of recent events, the City of Rome, NY and its residents have faced profound losses, and the outpouring of assistance is deeply meaningful. We urge Rome area residents to contact 211 for non-emergency, stated Litera. 2-1-1 contact centers are staffed by trained specialists who quickly assess the callers’ needs and refer them to the help they need. 2-1-1 services are free, confidential, and accessible to everyone through multilingual capabilities.
