We piloted an initiative to immerse our young professionals in the real-world workplace environment by visiting some of our esteemed Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) partners. 🎉 Celebrating Networking and Growth at Cristo Rey SJ Jesuit HS! 🎉 On July 16th, Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School held the 2024 CWSP Summer Bridge Networking Day, and it was a remarkable success! Over 120 new students, including incoming 9th graders and a few transfer students, joined us for a day filled with learning, growth, and connection. Our Summer Bridge Program is designed to prepare these bright young minds for their first work placements, and a key ingredient in their success is mastering the art of professional communication. For many of our new student workers, the prospect of communicating with adults can be intimidating. That's why events like our Networking Day are so crucial! We were thrilled to have the support of our incredible volunteers, alumni, corporate partners, and dedicated staff for the event. Together, we participated in structured conversation activities, helping our students build confidence and professionalism in a supportive environment. 🌞🎓 Exciting News: Cristo Rey's 2024 Summer Bridge Program! 🎓🌞 We are thrilled to welcome our incoming class of 127 9th graders and transfer students to Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School! This summer, they have embarked on a transformative journey through our four-week Summer Bridge Program. This program is more than just a summer activity; it’s a crucial stepping stone for our students' success. Aligned with our Jesuit Grad-at-Grad values, the curriculum is tailored to build essential skills in academics, executive functioning, and life at Cristo Rey. Students will also start preparing for their upcoming work placements in our unique Corporate Work Study Program. Students will learn Gmail and calendar management, professional email writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving. They'll also gain proficiency in beginner and advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, develop and finalize their resumes, and learn essential workplace safety practices. By the end of these four weeks, our students will be well-prepared and confident to take on the challenges of high school and their professional environments. 🎓 Earlier this month, Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School celebrated its seventh graduating class, the Class of 2024. Despite virtually starting high school four years ago, this class exhibited true grit and determination throughout their time at Cristo Rey. Emily Equihua, who received the President’s Award of Ignatian Excellence, inspired her class with her speech, sharing, “Go into the world and do well, but most importantly go into the world and do good.
