About us
CRETE VALLEY is a project that will turn Crete into a fully sustainable, decentralised energy system, enabling the island to meet its energy needs through renewable sources. To achieve this, CRETE VALLEY will pioneer the first Renewable Energy Valley ‘Living Lab’ (REV-Lab) in Europe. The REV-Lab will consist of four Community Energy Labs (CELs) located across Crete to rely on different renewable energy sources including solar, wind, geo-exchange, biomass, biogas/biomethane and hydrogen. CRETE VALLEY will leverage innovative ICT technologies and digital solutions to benefit the communities involved, demonstrate the scalability of renewable energy systems and accelerate the EU green transition. The Indonesian Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan, visited Crete and was welcomed by the board of directors of Minoan Energy Community, one of Crete Valley’s partners. During their visit, the delegation toured Minoan Energy’s offices and ongoing projects, engaging in discussions with community officials, and expressing keen interest in #CreteValley’s activities. Energieexpert:innen aus aller Welt kamen auf der diesjährigen Enlit in Mailand zusammen, um die drängendsten Fragen der Energiewende zu diskutieren. Wir von B.A.U.M. waren stolz, unsere Projekte int:net und Crete Valley in der EU Projects Zone zu präsentieren, gemeinsam mit über 70 weiteren EU-Projekten. Die Konferenz bot eine großartige Gelegenheit zum Austausch und ermöglichte uns, vielen interessierten Besucher:innen Einblicke in unsere Arbeit und Projektziele zu geben. Besonders gefreut hat uns das große Interesse an unseren beiden Sessions: eine zur Vorstellung der wichtigsten Ergebnisse des int:net-Projekts und eine zur Arbeit des Energy Data Space Clusters.
