In celebration of #WorldTeachersDay, we recognize the vital role educators play in building brighter futures. Through the USAID-funded Bar ama Baro (BAB) program, in partnership with Somalia's Ministry of Education, over 5,000 teachers have been trained in accelerated education, social-emotional learning, and creating safe learning environments. These efforts ensure that vulnerable and out-of-school youth receive the quality education they deserve.

I had the privilege of representing Creative Associates International at the Howard University Career Fair, an incredible opportunity to connect with bright and motivated students. It was inspiring to share our mission, vision, and values, along with the exciting opportunities we offer. At Creative Associates, we are dedicated to making a positive impact around the globe. Engaging with students eager to be part of meaningful global initiatives truly reinforces our commitment to creating lasting change. The energy and enthusiasm I witnessed during the event reaffirmed my belief that the future is indeed in capable hands. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Howard University for hosting such an exceptional event. A special thank you goes out to all the students who visited our booth, exploring how they can actively participate in advancing our mission. Let’s embark on this journey together—together, we can make a significant impact on the world! Natural resource management can often spark conflict, but thanks to locally led efforts supported by USAID's Tejiendo Paz program, a crisis was averted in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. In this initiative, leaders like Yesenia Mejia Palacios, Vice President of her Community Development Council (COCODE), are addressing critical issues such as water access and enhancing local governance. Tejiendo Paz empowers communities by focusing on social conflict prevention, enabling COCODEs to effectively advocate for their needs and engage with local authorities.

“You suffer a lot on the journey. There are things that leave a mark on you along the way,” says Rickis, a mother who spent a month traveling to the U.S. border with her young children, only to be returned to Honduras. With the help of USAID's Sembrando Esperanza and Fundación Ayuda en Acción, a pilot program is providing crucial emotional, social and financial support to returned migrants like Rickis. This initiative not only addresses the trauma and hardships faced during migration but also focuses on sustainable reintegration into their communities. The pilot has already shown promising results, with 95 out of 105 participants experiencing improved quality of life. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eNWmdDCs
