Dr. Ronald L. Rhames, President of Midlands Technical College, shared the decade-long journey to this moment and his excitement for the future. Sandra Jackson, Chair of the Midlands Technical College Commission Board, highlighted the center's prime location in the heart of Town of Lexington, South Carolina and praised Dr. Rhames for his transformative work as he approaches retirement. Dr. Barrie Kirk, Ed.D., Provost, spoke about the new opportunities for Lexington residents and the strengthened connections with the North Lake Community Learning Center next door. Devin Henson, Assistant Provost of Academic Affairs, expressed enthusiasm for the state-of-the-art classrooms and equipment, announcing upcoming Art and English classes this summer and EMT programs in the fall. Dr. Gerrita Postlewait and Mary Gaskins from Lexington County School District One acknowledged the visionaries who made this expansion possible. We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Richard Buckingham! 👋 Richard joins us as the Existing Business and Industry Manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting businesses like yours. Richard is passionate about leveraging his expertise in manufacturing and pharmaceuticals to support businesses, drawing inspiration from his diverse experiences and dedication to excellence. Growing up in Central Florida, he spent a large portion of his time enjoying the regional assets that benefit all residents in the Greater Orlando Region. Richard attended Florida Southern College (FSC) in Lakeland, Florida, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. While in college, Richard conducted various marine biology field research projects on Fish and Sharks in both Florida and the Bahamas.
