👍At Corio, we believe in working side-by-side with suppliers and partners who will help us deliver offshore wind projects in a sustainable and responsible way. That’s why we recently announced a partnership with EcoVadis, the globally trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, and it’s why we have now launched a sustainable procurement initiative that will focus on three important areas: ➡️Greenhouse Gas Emissions – encouraging the adoption of frameworks and policies on Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. ➡️Modern Slavery – evidencing the steps taken to avoid and eliminate Modern Slavery in the supply chain. ➡️Health & Safety – ensuring controls are in place to reducing potential risks and regularly report on incidents. We recognise that our suppliers are directly linked to our sustainability objectives, and we will use these focus areas to stimulate discussion and analysis on the current situation in the offshore wind supply chain. Corio use EcoVadis for their rating and analysis of sustainability scorecards, giving us a clear way to discuss and action important sustainability objectives with our suppliers. By registering your company, you can send a powerful signal that you share Corio’s commitment to the highest of sustainability standards for our industry and the delivery of a low carbon future. So get Ahead of the Curve on sustainability and sign up to EcoVadis today: https://ow.ly/m5sl50T4hPg

🤝 🏗️ Corio Generation and Brazilian shipyard and marine construction company Estaleiros do Brasil (EBR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore how EBR’s facilities could support future offshore wind projects off Brazil’s south coast. Corio and EBR will look at how EBR’s existing infrastructure, located close to Rio Grande port in Brazil’s southern province of Rio Grande do Sul, could support the deployment of two windfarms planned for the south of the country - Cassino Offshore Wind (1,200 MW) and Rio Grande Offshore Wind (1,200 MW). Corio is aiming to develop five offshore wind farms in Brazil, totalling up to 6 GW, as part of its significant global portfolio of projects across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Four of these projects, amounting to approximately 4.8 GW, are located off the southern and south-eastern coastlines of the country. Congratulations to the winners of our first-ever design content contest for college and graduate students in Ulsan, South Korea. Organised by BadaEnergy, our project jointly developed with TotalEnergies and SK ecoplant, this initiative aimed to inspire younger generations to engage with the development of floating offshore wind farms in Ulsan and to share their innovative ideas through creative content. Over 60 students formed teams and submitted their impressive video and image works. After careful evaluation, eight teams stood out for their exceptional creativity and understanding of Ulsan's floating offshore wind projects. The winners were honoured at a recent award ceremony at our Ulsan office, attended by BadaEnergy's Ulsan Office Lead, Gwon Yeol Yang. Their outstanding contributions were celebrated with well-deserved awards. A heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to everyone who participated. We're pleased to announce that Corio’s offshore wind projects in the Philippines have received green lane certification from the Philippine Board of Investments. The Philippines aims to achieve 35% renewable energy in its generation mix by 2030. "We greatly appreciate the government’s support for renewable energy, particularly offshore wind. These green lane certifications are crucial for our project development and efforts in helping the country reach its decarbonisation targets," says Alma Roxas-Aguila, Corio's Development Director for the Philippines. This means our projects in Cavite and Guimaras will benefit from expedited processing of permits and licenses. In the Philippines, Corio plans to develop up to five projects, totalling 3 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind capacity. Corio has been awarded a feasibility license for the 2.5 GW Great Eastern Offshore Wind project, located in the Gippsland offshore wind zone off the coast of Victoria, meaning it can conduct the detailed assessment works required to progress the project to a commercial stage. Speaking at this week’s Australian Clean Energy Summit in Sydney, organised by the Clean Energy Council, Jonathan Cole, CEO of Corio Generation, said that: “Offshore wind technology is a proven, clean, and cost-competitive form of electricity generation and we strongly believe the state and people of Victoria will greatly benefit from harnessing one of the world's premier offshore wind resources.” “Our Victorian team combines extensive international experience in delivering world-class offshore wind farms with strong local knowledge and capabilities. Great Eastern Offshore wind will contribute to Australia’s energy transition and journey towards net zero. “We believe that the offshore wind sector can play a vital role in delivering clean, green and affordable renewable energy across Australia and providing economic development for local communities.” “Developing offshore wind projects will attract large-scale and long-term investment, driving the growth of Australia’s supply chain and creating valuable new employment opportunities,” he added. The team behind the Great Eastern Offshore Wind project has undertaken significant community and stakeholder engagement since 2021 and is looking forward to continuing to work with all stakeholders, including governments, local communities, and First Nations peoples in the forthcoming phases of the project.
