Conservatory Lab Charter School

We had an amazing day yesterday celebrating the Lang Lang International Music Foundation's incredible impact on the Boston Public Schools! Lang Lang and Mayor Wu joined together to perform for over 400 elementary students, Boston Arts Academy Sophomore Lillian Chen wowed the audience on piano, and the Edison K8 School music educator Maria Doreste Velazquez was recognized as the 23-24 Lang Lang Music Educator of the Year! It was an amazing day of celebration and we are excited for the installation of the 9th Lang Lang Keys of Inspiration Piano Labs in the Boston Public Schools at the Mario Umana Academy in East Boston! With support from an EdVestors BPS Arts Expansion Grant, we will be launching an afterschool program at the Umana, offering individual and small group lessons to enhance students' in-school learning. Special thanks to the Boston Arts Academy team for hosting us including School Leader Tyrone Sutton, Artistic Director Maura Tighe, and the talented students producing the lighting and sound under the direction of Dan Jentzen!

For me, days like today are a reminder of why I love what I do—getting to step into our community and making an immediate, visible impact is such a rewarding experience.   Our Boston Vynamic team had the opportunity to partner with the Conservatory Lab Foundation where we transformed their lower school's outdoor spaces with colorful four-square courts, hopscotch lanes, and a fresh garden. What made the day even more special was getting to observe a first-grade strings class starting the school year strong. Their energy and excitement for learning through music was truly inspiring and motivated us even more to contribute to such a vibrant, creative environment.   It's amazing to see how much joy and growth the arts can bring to students, especially in a school that serves predominantly low-income families. We seek a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Associate to support our fundraising efforts. The Development Associate will work closely with the Director of Development & Marketing to advance Project STEP’s mission by managing donor relations, coordinating fundraising activities, and supporting grant writing and reporting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about arts education, diversity, and community impact. This position operates in a hybrid (in-person and virtual) capacity as needed.
